The Ugly VSTi Interface

Our host application for VSTi plug-ins, now ported to OS X. It loads one VSTi at a time, and no effects, but it's intuitive and stable. See also the review of the Ugly in Sound on Sound magazine. Loads both CFM and Mach-O VSTi's. Version b0.3 now offers ReWire output! Search for VSTi's here.

Kenton Control Freak Editors

These are editors for the Kenton Control Freak line of MIDI controllers. The Studio Edition version of the Editor works with the Control Freak Studio Edition, the Control Freak Live, and the Spin Doctor. The Original version of the Editor works with the Control Freak Original (the 8-slider version).

The Tapper v0.1

Tap on, tap off: The Tapper! A small, simple, BPM counter. Our first Aqua-style interface.

Pro Tools Mode Display

This is a very simple utility to display which "switch mode" Pro Tools is in when using a JL Cooper CS-10 MIDI control surface.

RTA Plug-In for Pluggo 3

A basic 1/3 octave Real Time Analyzer. Includes a mono sum switch. Requires the Pluggo 3 Runtime Environment, which supports RTAS, VST, and MAS.

Note2Frequency

A utility program for audio production. Press a note on the on-screen keyboard, and it gives you the Hz (frequency in cycles per second). It will also play a sine wave as a reference tone.

Max2

Max2 (max squared) is an editor/librarian for Sequential Circuits' Max keyboard. It features hands-on access to all its parameters, software LFO's, controller mapping, and randomization. Finally, touch parts of your Sequential Max that you never thought possible.

Drum Trigger Pack

Two small programs for piezo drum trigger setups. One triggers a single sound, the other tracks tempo and will play single-measure loops. Both require the drum trigger pulse to be translated to a MIDI clock message (see enclosed readme file for more info). *** Works OK on OS X, although the interface gets a bit munged.

On some browsers, these files may download with the name "download.pl," instead of their correct names. If StuffIt Expander does not automatically decompress the download file, try dragging it onto your StuffIt Expander application. (The Tapper and The Ugly for OSX are dmg files, so try dragging them onto the Disk Copy application instead.)
