Bob Katz on Lowender

March 2015

Bob Katz

Bob Katz, world-renowned mastering engineer and author of Mastering Audio, recently sent us this feedback after using Lowender in a mastering session. After we picked our jaws up off the floor, we asked him if we could share his comments with you, and he graciously agreed.

Great job with Lowender! It allowed me to turn a wimpy club dance mix that didn’t have any fundamental bass notes into a deep, punchy master. The client won’t know what hit him or how I did it. It’s just magic. There’s nothing else on the market like it. I’m very happy.

Lowender is a very clean-sounding product when that’s what the engineer wants; it doesn’t sound artificial when dialed in right. Or, if you want, it can sound fat, or fuzzy or distorted. But mainly it helps to supply the low fundamentals when they are missing, and it does an excellent job of it. It sounds just like the players performed those notes, which is amazing.
