Lowender Version Clarification
Nov 14, 2009
There has been some confusion over the various versions of Lowender currently available. This is understandable, given the array of options during this transitional period, as we move Lowender away from dependency on Cycling ‘74’s abandoned Pluggo framework.
To aid in a clearer understanding of which version you want for your system, please view this handy chart. “Native” means, it works like 99% of the other plug-ins out there, in terms of not requiring Pluggo. “Pluggo”, of course, means, you’ll need to download the Pluggo framework first in order to run the plug-in:
| OS X | Windows | |
|---|---|---|
| VST | native | native |
| Audio Unit | native | |
| RTAS | Pluggo | not available |
Please note two additional tidbits:
- When the native version of Lowender for RTAS is released, it will be for both Mac and Windows.
- All these new versions, including the upcoming RTAS native version, are free for exisiting users. There is no upgrade cost. (There may, however, be a price increase across the board once the RTAS versions are released.)
